Off-White is an exploration of conceptual design with a focus on bold typography and hard-hitting prints that navigate the realms of today’s market between streetwear and luxury.

Abloh’s translation of his distinct design output has nurtured from his experience within architecture and having that interest to fuse to two aspects into one coherent language. The idea of “Everything in quotes” is distinguishable and gives an ironic feel to the Italian brand, but it is the benefits of appealing under the high-fashion domain that has catapulted Off-White towards a youthful consumer movement.

A stand out parameter of the Off-White brand is footwear, in particular, the ODSY sneaker range. The ODSY 1000 is an amalgamation of design; taking cues from running spikes, walking boots and traditional trail shoes, the sneaker forms a unique, innovative hybrid of materials from all of the aforementioned silhouettes. Emblazoned with Off-White branding such as the signature “SHOELACES” quotation, arrow design markers and a mimicking of the brands industrial belt, the sneaker represents a laid-out industrial feel throughout, much like the ongoing collaboration between Abloh and his re-interpretations of Nike silhouettes.

Adorned with a chunky midsole, the blend of materiality on the ODSY 1000 upper comes in the form of mesh and suede overlays. Complete with a brand patch to the tongue and embossed detailing to the sneaker’s standout sole unit, it is finished with an intricate lace closing system.

As the ODSY 1000 is a typical foray into the world of chunky sneakers, the ODSY 2000 gives off a touch of running. Sitting on a sole of small spikes, the lower profile opts for an upper comprised of suede, mesh and leather overlays with accentuating Off-White branding throughout. The sneaker’s streamlined look is complete with an “OFF” rubber tongue label, colour-blocked design and an additional plastic heel clip.
